Data Engineer with SAP HANA

Roles And Responsibilities

  1. SAP HANA Development:

    • Design, develop, and implement solutions using SAP HANA, focusing on complex data models and transformation logic to meet business requirements.
    • Perform coding, testing, and debugging of SAP HANA solutions, ensuring optimized and efficient performance.
    • Create and manage procedures, functions, views, and SQL scripts in SAP HANA to support business processes.

  2. Problem Resolution:

    • Analyze and resolve issues related to SAP HANA developments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Provide timely fixes and enhancements to SAP HANA components, addressing errors or inefficiencies.

  3. Advanced Data Transformation:

    • Develop and execute complex transformation logic to process and organize data, enabling seamless data flow and analytics.

  4. Integration with Reporting Tools:

    • Collaborate with teams to integrate SAP HANA with Tableau and SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) for robust data visualization and reporting.
    • Leverage experience with Tableau and SAP BO to design and enhance dashboards and reports, providing actionable insights.

  5. Performance Optimization:

    • Monitor and optimize SAP HANA performance, ensuring high availability and reliability for critical business applications.

  6. Collaboration and Documentation:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and data scientists, to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
    • Document design and development processes for easy maintenance and knowledge sharing.

  7. Continual Learning and Best Practices:

    • Stay updated with the latest SAP HANA features and industry best practices to enhance system efficiency and innovation.

Hands-on experience of 2 to 5 years in SAP HANA, combined with skills in Tableau and SAP BO, is highly desirable for excelling in this role.

Technical And Professional Requirements

  • Should adhere to Data Architecture, Modeling, and Coding guidelines.
  • Should understand functional requirements.
  • Preparation of Design documents and/or Technical Documents.
  • Should have Experience in HANA Modeling – Calculation views, Stored procedures, Scalar & Table functions, Performance tuning
    techniques XS Development – XSO Data, XSJS Services, Debugging DS – Job development end to end including Transformation, DS
    Scripting, Consume External services Mandatory Skills SAP Native HANA, Implementation, Configuration, Safe Agile Methodology.

Preferred Skills

  • SAP HANA XS / Native HANA->SAP HANA XS / Native HANA.
  • SAP HANA XS / Native HANA.
  • Must have experience with SAP Native HANA SQL script.
  • Candidate should have hands-on experience in Data Analysis and Analyst knowledge with writing functional and technical specifications.
  • Reviewing developer designs and sometimes designing solutions for an enterprise data warehouse built using SAP HANA ( Native).
  • Converting ad hoc and proof of concept solutions/models into a production-ready solution in SAP HANA ( Native).
  • SAP HANA 2.0 configuration, architecture, reporting/visualization, predictive analytics, and data/solution modeling.
  • Must have Project experience in advanced modeling concepts including Analytic Views, Attribute Views, Hierarchies, Creating Restricted &
    Calculated Columns, Filter Operations, Variables, Creating Calculation Views, SAP HANA SQL, SQL Script and Procedures, Currency
    Conversion, Turning Business Rules into Decision Tables.

Nice To Have Below

  • Teradata, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau and SAP Business Objects (BO) will add advantage.
  • Candidate should have good analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

Additional Responsibilities

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Computer)
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematics/Statistics/Computer)
